Several of these overlap enough that people pick the wrong one and get an answer that is correct but not to the question they meant to ask. A short guide to the boundaries.
Age calculator or date difference calculator
Both measure a span between two dates, but they answer differently at the edges. The age calculator measures from a date to today and reports the result in years, months and days the way people speak about age. The date difference calculator takes two arbitrary dates and is better when you want a total, such as the number of days remaining on a contract.
The distinction matters because month arithmetic is genuinely ambiguous. There's no universally agreed answer to what date falls one month after 31 January, since February has no thirty-first. Tools resolve this by clamping to the last valid day or by rolling forward into March, and they disagree. If a calculated date needs to hold up contractually, counting in days avoids the ambiguity entirely.
Percentage is three different questions
People say percentage for three separate calculations: what is twenty percent of a number, one number is what percent of another, and what is the percent change between two numbers. Choosing the wrong one is the most common source of a confidently wrong answer.
Percentage change also carries an asymmetry worth internalizing. A fifty percent decrease requires a one hundred percent increase to return to where it started, because the base changed. This is why an investment down forty percent needs a gain of about sixty-seven percent to break even, and why averaging percentage changes across periods is usually misleading.
Calculators whose output depends on an assumption
Reading time is an estimate built on an assumed pace, typically around two hundred words per minute for silent reading and closer to one hundred and thirty for speaking aloud. Dense technical writing runs slower than that and light prose runs faster, so treat the figure as a planning aid rather than a measurement. Aspect ratio is the opposite case: it describes a shape rather than a size. So a ratio alone doesn't tell you a resolution, and two images with the same ratio can differ enormously in pixel dimensions.
